What is a SOAR Forum?
SOAR stands for:
- Strengths - what we are doing well
- Opportunities - opportunities for us to grow and change
- Aspirations - what we hope for & what we care deeply about
- Results - indicators that tell us if/how we are reaching our goals
A SOAR Forum is a meeting where members of the college community are invited to discuss the college’s strengths, opportunities, aspirations and results for each of the themes derived from the Appreciative Inquiry interviews held in March.
What is the purpose of the SOAR Forums?
To explore the themes that arose from the AI interviews
To brainstorm the strengths, opportunities, aspirations and results of each of the themes
When and how will they be held?
SOAR Forums are scheduled between April 5-8, 2022. Each SOAR Forum will be for one hour and will address 1 - 2 strategic planning themes.
The forums will be led by a facilitator and notes will be recorded by a notetaker. Identifying information will not be included in the notes. The notes will be entered into a Qualtrics form for analyzing. From there, the final themes will be presented to the Strategic Planning Steering Committee and then to the college community at the May 3 Strategic Planning Summit.
